Borussia Dortmund will take on VfL Bochum on Saturday in the 83rd "Little Derby". We have compiled the most important facts on the final home game of 2022 in a compact format below.

The scenario: Fourth versus 17th. Bochum have only seven points on the board – slightly more than half of their tally at the same stage of last season.

Home/away: Dortmund's 3-2 defeat to Bremen has been followed up by three wins and a draw. BVB have scored at least one goal in each of the last 40 home games (ongoing club record). No team has yet suffered more than four away defeats this season – except for Bochum, who have lost six on the road. That's seven away losses in a row if you include last season.

Head-to-head record: The only clubs Borussia failed to beat last season were Bayern, Leipzig and Bochum (1-1, 4-3). And yet BVB generally have a good record against VfL. The home defeat in April was the only one they have suffered in this fixture in the last 24 years. There has always been at least one goal between the teams at the Strobelallee, with no goalless draws in the previous 31 meetings. The overall score is 64-37.

Statistics: Only Union (eight wins) have won more games than Borussia (seven). No team has played fewer draws than BVB (one). And only Freiburg have kept one more clean sheet than the Black & Yellows (seven games without conceding). No team has failed to score as often as Bochum (five), with their goal difference of -21 the worst in the division.

Biggest home win: On Matchday 30 of the 2000/2001 campaign, a crowd of 65,000 witnessed the Black & Yellows triumph 5-0. Lars Ricken (16) and Jörg Heinrich (29) secured an early 2-0 lead. "Billy" Reina bagged two more goals in the 66th and 68th minutes to make it 4-0, with "Micky" Stevic then rounding off the scoring from the spot after Reina had been fouled. BVB climbed up to third place by the end of the season, while Bochum finished bottom and went down.
