Borussia Dortmund central defender Soumaila Coulibaly is moving to the reigning Belgian champions and cup winners Royal Antwerp with immediate effect. The 19-year-old joins on a loan deal for the 2023/24 season.

"The opportunity has arisen for Soumi to get match practice at domestic and international level in Antwerp. Since we currently cannot guarantee him this match practice in the centre-back position, we have agreed to his request to go out on loan," explained BVB sporting director Sebastian Kehl, who went on to add: "Soumi has always contributed fully with his positive energy. We wish him all the best for the coming campaign in Belgium and the upcoming qualifying round for the UEFA Champions League."

Coulibaly, who transferred from the Paris St. Germain U19s to the Strobelallee during his rehab for a torn cruciate ligament in the summer of 2021, made one appearance for BVB in both the UEFA Champions League and the Bundesliga.
