U19 player Danylo Krevsun signed a new contract on Friday afternoon, tying him to Borussia Dortmund for a further two years until 2026. The 18-year-old will bolster coach Jan Zimmermann's U23 squad next season.

The attacking midfielder received his footballing education as a child at top Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk. After the Russian invasion in spring 2022, he fled Ukraine and came to Münster. After just nine games for SC Preußen Münster, he attracted the interest of BVB and moved to coach Mike Tullberg's U19s in January 2023.

While he was still a back-up player in his first half-season, Krevsun went on to earn a regular place in the U19 midfield. In the current season, he has played in every one of the twelve matches in the U19 Bundesliga West, scoring six goals in the process. The young Ukrainian made five appearances in the UEFA Youth League, only missing the final group game against Paris Saint-Germain due to a yellow-card suspension. At the beginning of the year, he took part in the U23s' winter training camp and played in a friendly against second-tier side Hansa Rostock.

Lars Ricken, director of the youth performance centre, explains: "Thanks to his exemplary attitude, Danylo can look back on an extremely successful time with the U19s. It fills us with joy to see that he now wants to take the next step at Borussia Dortmund and we are convinced that he will continue to develop positively over the next two years."

"Danylo is a good kid with an exceptional mentality. He put in a strong performance in the training camp against experienced 3. Liga players. We are therefore firmly convinced that he will continue to develop well here over the next two years," said Ingo Preuss, sporting director of Borussia Dortmund's U23s.
