Borussia Dortmund will play a total of eight friendlies in preparation for the 2009-10 season which begins in earnest at the start of August in the German Cup. Included is an ´international´ match as BVB host Real Madrid on August 19. Training starts on Sunday at 1700 . in the SIGNAL IDUNA PARK

The first friendly is on Friday 3 July (1900 CET) at the "Big Meadow" stadium in Huesten against a selection taken from the German region of Sauerland. Two days later BVB visit Eintracht Rheine (k.o also at 1500 CET).

Then from the 8th to the 16th the team head off, just like last year, for their training camp in Donaueschingen. The team will fly from Dortmund to Lahr and then on the way to the camp will stop off in Offenburg where, in the Karl-Heiz stadium, they will play hosts FV Offenburg (k.o 1830 CET).
Whilst at their training camp, BVB take on FV Donaueschingen on July 11 (k.o 1700) and then take part in SC Pfullendorf´s ´45minute´ tournament on July 15 (1800) when they join Nuremberg in a three-way tournament where each plays the other for 45 minutes.
Upon their return to Dortmund, BVB play at SC Paderborn on July 19 (ko at either 1700 or 2000) before Valencia and Udinese provide the opposition in the anniversary tournament at the SIGNAL IDUNA PARK. The final test before the German Cup will then take place on Tuesday 28 July at the home of newly promoted FSV Mainz 05. Should the teams be drawn against eachother in the first Bundesliga games this game will be postponed.
The new Bundesliga fixtures (first matches 7 August) will be announced on 2 July whilst the Cup draw takes place on 27 June with games to be played between July 31 and August 3.
