The excitement is palpable going into the final matchday of the UEFA Youth League group stage. BVB will host Slavia Prague at the club's Hohenbuschei Youth Performance Centre on Tuesday (10 December, kick-off 16:00 CET) while at the same time, Inter Milan will go head-to-head with Barcelona in what promises to be a drama-filled afternoon. Inter, Slavia and Borussia all harbour hopes of qualification for the next round and, as things stand, there's nothing to separate them: all three are neck-on-neck with nine points. Barcelona have only managed to pick up three points, meaning they are playing for nothing but pride.

Coach Michael Skibbe's side need a win if they are to be sure of a place in the next round. ''We're going to do absolutely all we can. We hope to see as many fans turn out as possible,'' said young star Tobias Raschl, who will wear the captain's armband on Tuesday. Skibbe has more or less a full complement of players to choose from; the only doubt is goalkeeper Luca Unbehauen, who has been struggling with an ankle injury.

The Black & Yellows were unfortunate 1-0 losers in the reverse fixture in Prague. ''They're an excellent team, very good in the air and dangerous in transition,'' said Michael Skibbe in his assessment of the Czech side, who managed to pull off big shocks with impressive wins against both Barcelona (3-2) and Inter Milan (4-1).
