"A lot, if not everything, was missing today," said Thorgan Hazard following the 2-0 home defeat against Mainz 05. The 27-year-old attacking midfielder then emphasised in no uncertain terms: "That might've been our worst home game."

Speaking to pay-TV broadcaster Sky, Hazard said: "Mainz also fought well and played well. In the first half they had one chance and scored one goal. We simply didn't play well today; it wasn't sufficient. It wasn't like the recent home games in which we played well." In reference to the two remaining games – away to Leipzig and home to Hoffenheim – the Belgian said: "We still have two games to play, and we need to win them. It's important to finish second; today wasn't good, but I think that the entire team wants second spot. We did fight for the title but it wasn't enough. Now we all need to play well and defend well together, because it's going to be tough against a good opponent on Saturday."
