Patrick Göbel and Tiago Estevao are moving to the Rote Erde stadium on free transfers. The 29-year-old Göbel joins the BVB U23s from FSV Zwickau and has signed a contract until 30 June 2026. Goalkeeper Estevao moves to Dortmund from Regionalliga club SV Rödinghausen. He has penned a deal until 30 June 2025.

Defensive midfielder Göbel came up through the ranks of the youth set-up at RW Erfurt before moving to FSV Zwickau for the first time in the summer of 2014. He returned to FSV in the summer of 2021 after spells at Würzburger Kickers, Hallescher FC and KFC Uerdingen.

The experienced midfielder has 260 3. Liga appearances to his name and has racked up 71 scorer points in the division. He was a Regionalliga North/East champion with Zwickau in 2016 and Bavarian Cup winner with Würzburg in 2019. "Patrick Göbel will play as a right-back with us and help us not just on the pitch, but also through his experience which can help the young players to develop as individuals,'' said Ingo Preuss, sporting director of the U23s, with regards to the new signing.

Estevao will be the fourth goalkeeper in U23 coach Jan Zimmermann's team, alongside Marcel Lotka, Silas Ostrzinski and Marian Kirsch. The 21-year-old previously played for the youth teams of Borussia Mönchengladbach and FC Porto, as well as Bayer Leverkusen's U19s.  His path has now led him to BVB via FC Wegberg-Beeck and SV Rödinghausen. "Tiago had a great first half of the season in the Regionalliga West. After a long spell on the sidelines, he is fit again and rounds out our goalkeeping team," says Preuss.
