Centre-back Hendry Blank, 19, is leaving Borussia Dortmund and joining Austrian league leaders RB Salzburg with immediate effect.

"Hendry approached us proactively with this very short-notice transfer request. He already wants to get as much match practice as possible at the highest level now and to take this new path to this end," explained Borussia Dortmund's sporting director Sebastian Kehl, who continued: "We wish him all the very best for his sporting future and will keep a very close eye on his development in Austria over the coming years."

U20 international Blank has made 13 third-division and four Youth League appearances for BVB this season. On 20 January, he made his Bundesliga debut in Dortmund's 4-0 victory in Cologne.

Hendry Blank said: "I had four and a half great years in Dortmund, in which I made it from the youth setup to the first team via the U23s. My Bundesliga debut was a very special moment and showed me once again that you can achieve everything through hard work. Now I'm looking forward to a new challenge in Salzburg and am very thankful to the BVB management for making it possible for me to take this step. I wish the club and the fans all the best for the future."
