There are still three games to go, nine points are still on offer. This means Borussia Dortmund could end the season with 83 points, two more than in the Championship season 2012, even eight more than in 2011 and a whole 13 points more than when they won the title in 2002.

Thomas Tuchel thought about it before the home match against VfL Wolfsburg on Saturday, where they are looking to win points 75, 76 and 77: "you ask yourself the question: what is worth more? Win the Championship with 69 or 70 points or come second with 83 points?" It will not be easy to achieve this.

Tuchel confirmed: "I expect a tight game, because Wolfsburg simply has too much quality in their squad." And everyone who saw the game against Real Madrid (2-0) on TV, will agree with the Head Coach "it is obvious that they have not been consistent in showing their potential on the pitch, but it is also obvious that they can play at the highest level."

Tuchel is only too aware that even though the season as a whole has been very disappointing for VfL, they have still scored the most goals from crosses in the league (13). And they have achieved this even though Bas Dost, "the man who converts the crosses" has been missing for long spells through injury. The centre forward will be back in the squad on Saturday.

Tuchel said on Friday: "our present situation is ideal for this challenge. We used the time after the Stuttgart game to regenerate mentally and physically with two days off and we have been training at the highest level since the day before yesterday, with real desire and freshness." With the desire to win points 75-77...Boris Rupert
