"It's definitely not going to be boring with us this season," said the coach. The post-match reactions from Edin Terzic, Sebastian Kehl, Julian Brandt, Emre Can, Julian Ryerson, Nico Schlotterbeck and Gregor Kobel.

Edin Terzic (at the press conference): "It's definitely not going to be boring with us this season. We envisaged the start going very differently. The spirit, belief and energy the team showed on the pitch after going 2-0 down deserves a huge compliment. After conceding the second goal, we played a great game. We of course benefited from the fact we quickly pulled a goal back. We had our best spell in the first 15 minutes of the second half, when we missed the chance to extend our lead. It was extremely important we started the next run of fixtures with a win. We're happy about the spirit we showed and the four goals; we're annoyed about the two goals we conceded."

Sebastian Kehl (in the mixed zone): "It was very important that we came back after going 2-0 down, got control over the game and turned it in our favour. We showed our comeback qualities again. We don't need that every time, but it's also been a characteristic of this team this season. The points are very good for our overall situation. For the conceded goals, we were not good at occupying or allocating space and in the challenges either. We can and must solve that better. It was an interesting match because the goals came at once and because we saw different phases."

Julian Brandt (to BVB TV): "Gladbach caught us napping in a turbulent first half. The most important thing was our response. We scored three great goals and took the lead, started the second half well and had a few really good chances. At the end, we lacked a bit of energy. We've been going for three months, playing in different countries every three days. You could see that today."

Emre Can (to Sky): "We won, even if not everything was okay. Even after we went 2-0 down, I had the feeling that something was possible, especially at our own stadium. We had a phase in the first half where we weren't aggressive enough and didn't embrace the challenges. The second half was better overall and we therefore deserved to win overall."

Julian Ryerson (in the mixed zone): "It was an entertaining match for the spectators. It was great how we came back after going 2-0 down, but we would've liked the start to have been different. But if we win in the end, everything is okay. After it went to 2-2, we had the momentum on our side. That gives us confidence. It's good to know we can come back after going behind. That's one of our qualities."

Nico Schlotterbeck (to BVB TV): "We actually had Gladbach completely under control in the first few minutes, and then it was 1-0. We didn't get stuck into the challenges well after that. The quick goal for 2-1 helped us, we got into a flow after that. We would like to control the whole match. The final 10 minutes also weren't good, we had lots of losses of possession then and many dangerous crosses were played in. We need to talk about that and the first 30 minutes. The rest was good."

Gregor Kobel (to Sky): "It was a super step. In a phase like this, it does you good and gives you self-confidence to fight back like this. We need to show that on the pitch game-in, game-out. And we now need to carry the momentum into the difficult weeks and continue where we left off today in Milan on Tuesday."
