The Borussia Dortmund first-team squad will head back to Dortmund on Tuesday afternoon. Prior to departure, BVB coach Edin Terzic spoke about the final friendly fixture against Standard Liège (3-3) and his impressions from the training camp in Marbella.

Edin Terzic on the game against Standard Liège:
"I'm unsatisfied with the result, it's another draw. However, we also saw many good things today. The boys implemented the things that we've tried to tackle in training significantly better in the first half than they did in the second. But you can see once again that we still have a long way to go. We conceded the goal from the first cross, we missed a lot of chances where we did not pick out the free man. Those are the things that we have to continue to improve."

…the training camp:
"It was six intensive days with four tough training days and two matches. We tried to make extremely good use of this time and worked very hard. Both on and off the pitch, we held a lot of talks and worked very intensively. You could also see that by the end. The boys gave their all. We're satisfied with that. We'll now fly home and then the journey will continue in Dortmund. We'll prepare for Saturday in the best-possible way and want to make the most of the next few weeks of training in January where we're not playing in mid-week."

…the left-back position:
"We've now tried different things. Marius Wolf unfortunately could not take part in training and the matches. We've given several young players the opportunity to showcase themselves. However, we have also put some experienced players in that position. We still have a few days to make the final decision for Saturday. We will find a good solution."

…Thomas Meunier's good performances:
"We're not at all surprised that Thomas has performed strongly here. We know that he is a very experienced player. He struggled with his injury for a long time in the first half of the season. The plan today was to let him play for longer, but unfortunately he indicated at half-time that his back was seizing up. We didn't want to take any risks and substituted him."

…the absence of Marius Wolf, Emre Can and Mateu Morey:
"Marius has had a respiratory infection since Friday and doesn't feel fit enough yet. Emre showed a slight muscular reaction after the first friendly fixture against Alkmaar. However, we're assuming that both players will be fine by Saturday. Mateu Morey wasn't feeling too well yesterday after dinner; he's suffering from a stomach bug."

…the performances by the young players:
It is of course always a good opportunity for the young players to showcase themselves. Both in training and in matches. Today, for example, Kjell Wätjen settled in very well, was very hard-working, strong and could have scored the winning goal at the end. The training camp was also very important for Mateu Morey, who is one of the younger players as well. There are a lot of lads who did really well. That said, we also know that our young players still have a long way to go."

…the impression made by the team and the upcoming competitive restart:
"We get the sense in every training session that the team wants to make up for the first half of the season. We did a lot of good things in the first half again today and positioned ourselves well. After conceding the goal, we needed a while to take control of the match again. The lads are very hard-working and self-critical; we will continue to work on our issues over the course of the coming weeks. There are many things that need to be improved and the boys know that. We are very pleased with the team's commitment and ability to take criticism."

…Franz Beckenbauer's death:
"I unfortunately did not experience Franz Beckenbauer as a player. My first experience of him was the 1990 World Cup, that's when I saw him for the first time and was barely eight years old. I think that German football has lost its biggest personality. My condolences to all his loved ones and family members. I think it will be difficult for a German footballer to ever reach the status that Franz Beckenbauer had again."
