Götze was sent off in the 77th minute of the Bundesliga tie at Leverkusen by referee Wolfgang Stark (Ergolfing). He was punished with a two-match ban for attempted violent conduct, and also received a €10,000 fine.
Kehl touched the fourth official Markus Schmidt lightly on the shoulder with his hand after the final whistle, but immediately apologized for it. He received a two-game suspension for unsportsmanlike behaviour. The players and the club have accepted the charges.
