The Borussia Dortmund women's footballers have won 6-0 (3-0) away to SpVg Berghofen II in the final round of the Landesliga season. The champions have thus ended the season unbeaten with 70 points and 124-6 goals.

The final matchday was characterised by a number of departures for the BVB women. Coach Thomas Sulewski fielded all the available players who will not be part of the Westfalenliga squad next year. Vanessa Kuhl scored her farewell goal in Black & Yellow in only the second minute of her final match for BVB. "It was very emotional and beautiful for me today. I will definitely miss it," said Kuhl. An own goal from Lea Kristin Witte made it 2-0 (13), before Marie Grothe subsequently upped it to 3-0 following a corner (24).

Hanna Hentrich came on at the break to make her Landesliga debut following a nine-month injury layoff. "I was very happy to play for BVB once again and to wear the shirt, even though it was very challenging and painful." Merle Greulich increased the lead to 4-0 in the 50th minute following an assist from Kuhl, who – like her shirt number counterpart in the men's squad, Marco Reus – signed off with a goal and an assist in her final league match. Her final total of 44 assists are an historical record for the BVB women.

Marie Grothe scored the goal for 5-0 on 77 minutes and claimed her 30th goal of the season to equal her record from last year. Merle Greulich, who will leave BVB for the USA, completed her brace only five minutes before the final whistle and rounded off the scoring at 6-0.

Directly after the final whistle, captain Lisa Klemann was given a standing ovation as she finished her playing career. She led Borussia Dortmund to three league titles and three Kreispokal victories. "It was very nice and a bit cheesy to finish my career here at my old club," said Klemann, who played for Berghofen until 2021.

BVB women: Kölmel – Geldschläger (Hentrich, 46), Becker, Glänzer, Klemann (Haslsteiner, 86) – Greulich, Herper, Tan (Gomulka, 65), Kuhl (Tayeh, 60) – Grothe, Kaul (Reinhardt, 60)

Goals: 0-1 Kuhl (2), 0-2 Witte (pen., 13), 0-3 Grothe (24), 0-4 Greulich (50), 0-5 Grothe (77), 0-6 Greulich (85)
