The 42-year-old Frenchman Clément Turpin will oversee a game involving BVB for the fifth time. Under his leadership, there was a 2-1 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur in November 2017, while the away games against Barcelona (November 2019) and Lazio (October 2020) both ended in 3-1 losses. Most recently – in February 2022 – BVB suffered a 4-2 home defeat at the hands of Rangers. The Frenchman refereed the opening match of EURO 2024 between Germany and Scotland.

Borussia Dortmund will wear their "cup kits" (yellow shirts, black shorts and yellow socks). Dinamo will play in dark blue strips.
