Fan community

With an average attendance of over 81,000 spectators per home game at SIGNAL IDUNA PARK, Borussia Dortmund plays a central role in the social, cultural, and economic fabric of the city and region.

At the same time, BVB enjoys a diverse, varied, and nationally and internationally widespread fan base. Over 1,000 fan clubs and 230,000 club members are a central part of the club's identity and influence, which extend far beyond the pure match day and stadium experience.

In line with this, Borussia Dortmund also pursues specific goals with regard to its own fan base as part of its sustainability strategy. In addition to the overarching maxim of preserving the club's values, these are as follows:

  • Strengthening and maintaining the club-fan dialogue through institutionalized dialogue formats
  • Continuously expanding and networking the fan community
  • Promoting young fans

Concrete measures to achieve these goals include institutionalized committees such as the fan council, formats such as the fan delegate conference, regional fan club meetings, public training sessions with the professionals, and continuous and personal exchange with the relevant departments at BVB.

Another key element of Borussia Dortmund's social responsibility is its joint commitment to combating racism, anti-Semitism, LGBTIQ* hostility, sexism, violence, and all forms of discrimination.
