BVB legends to compete in Beckenbauer Cup

Borussia Dortmund's legends team will take part in the Beckenbauer Cup hosted by Bayern Munich on 17 March 2025. The indoor football tournament in honour of Franz Beckenbauer, who passed away in January 2024, will be held at the SAP Garden in Munich.In addition to Bayern, BVB will also face legends teams from Real Madrid, AC Milan and VfB Stuttgart. as well as another top international team as of yet unannounced.

The legends of all the teams will be available to sign autographs for fans during the event. The tournament is part of Bayern Munich's 125th anniversary celebrations next year. All proceeds from the tournament will go to the Franz Beckenbauer Foundation.

The tournament will be played in two groups on artificial turf, with each match lasting ten minutes. From the semi-finals onwards, there will be two halves of six minutes each. The top two teams in each group reach the semi-finals. The losers meet in the match for third place and the winners contest the final for the Beckenbauer Cup.
