In the beginning was the Weiße Wiese – the new third jersey 2024/25

Borussia Dortmund’s players will wear the new third jersey for the 2024/25 season for the first time at the season opening against English first division club Aston Villa (10 August). In reference to the Weiße Wiese, BVB’s first home ground, the jersey is white.

The jersey design pays homage to the BORUSSIA-SPORTPLATZ, BVB’s first home ground, also known as the Weiße Wiese. The white jersey features a poplar pattern reminiscent of the poplar trees that coloured the ground of the football pitch white back then. In August 1924, 100 years ago, the “Weiße Wiese” stadium lost its name and has proudly been called BORUSSIA-SPORTPLATZ ever since.

Another special characteristic is the material from which the jerseys are made. With the innovative RE:FIBRE technology from PUMA, polyester that is no longer needed is turned into new fabric. Old turns into new – again and again!

The new BVB third jersey 2024/25 is now available in the online store.
