Sunday, 8 September (15:30 CEST): BVB-Tischtennis vs. ASC Grünwettersbach
For the first time in the club's history, Borussia Dortmund's table tennis players have been promoted to the Bundesliga. After the away match at Werder Bremen, which the team lost 3-1, the first Bundesliga home fixture will take place on 8 September. The game starts at 15:30 CEST in the Brügmann Sporthalle. To celebrate Borussia's Bundesliga home premiere, visitors can expect a special supporting programme on the day. Lukasz Piszczek and Jakub Blaszczykowski will also be on hand to support the team. Tickets can be purchased in the online ticket shop.
Friday, 13 September (20:30 CEST): BVB vs. 1. FC Heidenheim
And then the Bundesliga will get underway again. After a two-week break, the BVB first team resume on a Friday evening with a home match against 1. FC Heidenheim. FCH finished a surprising eighth in the table at the end of last season and are now starting their second year in the Bundesliga. Both fixtures last season ended in draws: 2-2 in Dortmund and 0-0 in Heidenheim.
Wednesday, 18 September (21:00 CEST): Club Brugge vs. BVB
BVB will travel to Club Brugge to kick off the new league phase of the UEFA Champions League. The two teams have met several times in the history of European competitions, most recently in the Champions League group stage in November 2020, when BVB won both games 3-0.
Sunday, 22 September (17:30 CEST): VfB Stuttgart vs. BVB
The Black & Yellows played VfB Stuttgart three times last season (twice in the Bundesliga, once in the DFB-Pokal), but every game against last season's runners-up ended in defeat for BVB. BVB will be hoping to improve on that this season. The first opportunity to do so will come on 22 September, when BVB play their first Sunday match of the season. It will be a swift reunion with their former club for new signings Waldemar Anton and Serhou Guirassy.
Friday, 27 September (20:30 CEST): BVB vs. VfL Bochum
The next home game, the next Friday night match: the "mini derby" against VfL Bochum will be the opening fixture of the matchday. Bochum were able to save themselves in the relegation play-off last season and thus secure another season in the Bundesliga. BVB won 3-1 at SIGNAL IDUNA PARK in the most recent meeting between the two sides at the beginning of the year.
