BVB begins enquiry
Borussia Dortmund recently commissioned the auditing firm BDO and the criminal law firm Knauer& to conduct a comprehensive and independent investigation.
The aim is to thoroughly investigate both the reports of sexual assault that have been received and Borussia Dortmund's handling of such reports in the past. To this end, the independent experts have now begun to evaluate existing documents and prepare interviews with those affected, other whistleblowers, employees and, where necessary, other witnesses. The aim of this independent investigation is to establish the facts and legal implications of the events.
Borussia Dortmund has also commissioned Dr Jeannine Ohlert, sports psychologist and researcher at the German Sport University in Cologne, to accompany the investigation and review with a particular focus on the perspective of those affected.
In order to be able to conduct a comprehensive review, Borussia Dortmund is actively asking those affected for their assistance. Those affected still have the option of contacting Borussia Dortmund's established whistleblower systems directly. Those affected also have the option of contacting the investigation companies directly at any time at the following email address: [email protected]
Borussia Dortmund is deeply concerned about the allegations of sexual assault. Borussia Dortmund distances itself from any form of violence, takes preventive action against it and is committed to protecting the people entrusted to us in the best possible way.
Borussia Dortmund will support the investigation with all means at its disposal.
We would like to thank all those who have approached us in confidence so far. We do not take this disclosure for granted.
