Germany and Norway qualify for the 2026 World Cup

On Sunday evening, Julian Ryerson and Norway qualified for the World Cup for the first time since 1998 thanks to a 4-1 victory over Italy. On Monday evening, Germany followed suit, with Nico Schlotterbeck, Felix Nmecha, Waldemar Anton and Karim Adeyemi all part of the squad.

Germany 6-0 Slovakia
The German national team have qualified for the 2026 World Cup. With a 6-0 victory over Slovakia in their final qualifying match, the DFB selection finished top of Group A. Nico Schlotterbeck was in the starting line-up for the home win and stabilised the defence until he was substituted in the 64th minute. Felix Nmecha came on in the second half, with Waldemar Anton and Karim Adeyemi watching on from the bench.

Italy 1–4 Norway
In their concluding match of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, Norway secured their place at the top of their group with a 4-1 victory over Italy, qualifying for the World Cup for the first time in 27 years. Julian Ryerson played the full 90 minutes, as he did in the 4-1 win over Estonia. At half-time in Milan, the Italian hosts were leading 1-0. The Norwegians turned the game around after the break to claim a 4-1 victory.
