Open dialogue for continued safety in stadiums

Borussia Dortmund stand for an open and lively fan culture. 81,365 fans visit our stadium for every home game to loudly support their team. BVB is much more than just a football club – it is a unifying element, a symbol of community and a proud part of the culture of the Ruhr region. The boycott by many active fan groups up and down Germany over the weekend made it clear how special the country's fan culture is.

For Borussia Dortmund, one thing is clear: safety is not an isolated issue, but a shared responsibility that concerns politicians, authorities, associations, clubs and fans alike. Only by working together can we continue to make stadiums places where everyone feels comfortable and safe.

Borussia Dortmund are using the current political discussions surrounding stadium safety in German professional football as an opportunity to promote open dialogue before political decisions are made - involving politicians, authorities, associations, clubs and fans. BVB are convinced that this dialogue will lead to responsible, appropriate and sustainable solutions that will preserve the unique fan culture in Germany and continue to make German stadiums safe places to visit.

Borussia Dortmund matches are safe events, and BVB will continue to contribute to a safe stadium experience, seek dialogue with partners and be available to act as a mediator at any time.
