Facts: Emre Can wins 90% of tackles on return to starting line-up

Deep into injury time in Hamburg, it looked like BVB were heading for their third straight 1-0 victory in the Bundesliga, but then substitute Königsdörffer grabbed a late equaliser. BVB, who dominated for long periods (17-8 shots on goal), were a little too passive after taking the lead and had to swallow a bitter loss of points.

Late goals conceded: Four of the seven goals conceded by the Black & Yellows in this Bundesliga season have come in the final quarter of an hour.

Comeback king: Emre Can showed no signs of a lack of match practice, with the BVB captain playing almost flawlessly and winning an outstanding 90% of his tackles.

Active: Carney Chukwuemeka had more efforts on goal than any other player on the pitch (four) and was thus a logical goalscorer for BVB. After scoring once last season, this was the 22-year-old's second Bundesliga goal. He also won 56% of his 27 challenges at the Volksparkstadion.

Scorer point: Nico Schlotterbeck was involved in a competitive goal for the first time this season with his assist for the opening goal.

Season premieres: Both clubs started with their regular captains (Yussuf Poulsen and Emre Can) for the first time this season.
