Cooperation with ONE PIECE for the match against Mainz

The Straw Hat Pirates were there: Borussia Dortmund teamed up with anime studio Toei Animation to combine football with the globally successful anime series ONE PIECE as part of the Bundesliga home match against FSV Mainz 05 on Sunday. Various activities were centred around the characters from the series.

The anticipation has been high since Monday: many fans couldn't wait to get their hands on the limited ONE PIECE collector's card, which was created in cooperation with BVB. The ONE-PIECE card game from Bandai Card Games could be experienced in the Fan World and souvenir photos could be taken in a photo box.

On matchday, long queues formed at the five stations in SIGNAL IDUNA PARK, where BVB fans could pick up an exclusive ‘BVB x ONE PIECE’ goodie bag with scarf, sticker and trading card. Mascot EMMA was also out and about in the stadium with Tony Chopper, a character from the series.
