BVB support "Lilly’s Dream"

For years, Borussia Dortmund have been committed to addressing the issues faced by people with disabilities or impairments. We see our work on inclusion as an important part of our club philosophy. The aim is always to enable more people to participate in society. During the last Bundesliga home match against 1. FSV Mainz 05, it was therefore a great pleasure and a labour of love to welcome 17-year-old Lilly Fritz to SIGNAL IDUNA PARK. The encounter was organised by the BVB foundation "leuchte auf".

Lilly has been suffering from infantile cerebral palsy (ICP) since birth and is confined to a wheelchair. She has also been in chronic pain for many years and has to take painkillers daily. In conjunction with the non-profit organisation MainLichtblick e.V. and the German Disabled Sports Association, Lilly's big dream is to raise awareness and acceptance among the general public for people with disabilities, which she is pursuing as part of the "Lilly's Dream" project.

Borussia Dortmund are also supporting this project: After the game against Mainz, BVB captain Emre Can presented a home jersey signed by the team, which will be auctioned off for a good cause and in favour of people affected, such as Lilly. Nico Schlotterbeck and Maxi Beier also took a lot of time to talk after the final whistle.
