BVB host Juventus for season opener
Traditionally, Borussia Dortmund hosts its season opener around SIGNAL IDUNA PARK one week before the competitive season begins with the first round of the DFB-Pokal. This year marks a first: both the men‘s and women‘s teams will play friendly matches, each against Juventus Turin. The BVB women‘s match, as they prepare for their new season in the Regionalliga, will kick off at 13:00 CEST at Stadion Rote Erde. The men‘s team will face Juventus, their opponent in the 1997 Champions League final, at 17:30 CEST at SIGNAL IDUNA PARK. “To celebrate our season opener with a double matchday for the first time, where both our men‘s team and our women‘s team face Juventus Turin, is a special event. With Juventus, we are hosting an absolute top club from Serie A as well as Serie A Femminile, which adds even more value to this day,” explains BVB Managing Director Carsten Cramer.
Between the two matches, both Black and Yellow squads for the 2025/26 season will be introduced. New signings will also make their first appearance in front of the BVB fans. Furthermore, Mats Hummels will be officially honored. The former BVB player made 508 competitive appearances for the club over more than 13 years, winning two Bundesliga titles, two DFB-Pokal trophies, and reaching the Champions League final twice with the Black and Yellows. He ended his impressive professional career at the end of May.
Ticket sales for the two season opener matches are expected to begin in early July. Further information on ticket sales and the family-friendly supporting programme will follow.
