Pre-Match Report

Countdown to Bremen: With Silva in the Starting XI

Borussia Dortmund travel to Werder Bremen on Tuesday (13 January). Kick-off is scheduled for 20:30 CET (live on Sky). We have summarised all the information about our Bundesliga away game in a compact format. This page will be updated if there is any news.

Line-up: Three Changes
Compared to the match in Frankfurt, there are three changes: Yan Couto, Carney Chukwuemeka, and Fabio Silva start in place of Daniel Svensson, Julian Brandt, and Serhou Guirassy.

This is the BVB starting XI: Kobel, Couto, Anton, Schlotterbeck, Nmecha, Beier, Chukwuemeka, Sabitzer, Silva, Süle, Ryerson

Referee: Siebert to officiate
Daniel Siebert, a 41-year-old teacher from Berlin, will referee the match. Benedikt Kempkes and Rafael Foltyn are the assistant referees. The fourth official is Lukas Benen and Benjamin Cortus will be monitoring the game as VAR. Siebert has been a FIFA-referee since 2014 and mentions sport and travelling as his main interests. He first officiated a BVB match on 12 September 2015, when Borussia won their away game in Hannover 4-2. Siebert has officiated a total of 34 matches involving Borussia Dortmund (23 wins, five draws and six defeats). He last refereed BVB this season in their home game against Wolfsburg (2-0).

Tickets: secondary market open
BVB's home game against Bremen has been sold out since Saturday. The secondary market will be open on matchday until 17:00 CET. Here, ticket holders can legally offer their season or day tickets in the BVB-Ticketshop if they are able to attend the match in  SIGNAL IDUNA PARK in person. Ticket holders do not have to hand over their season or day ticket as the tickets can be blocked and subsequently reactivated electronically. The secondary market is available for all home games that are sold out.

Arrival: ticket in ticket
This service by BVB and DSW21 remains unique in the Bundesliga: the admission ticket for SIGNAL IDUNA PARK is also valid for travelling to and from the stadium throughout the entire state of North Rhine-Westphalia. This also applies to plastic season tickets. Holders of “Print@Home-Tickets” or “mobile Tickets” (e.g.. Apple Wallet), must carry a public transport ticket in addition to their admission ticket, which can be purchased free of charge online on this website. For travel information.

Kits: BVB in Black & Yellow
Borussia Dortmund will play in their yellow home kit with black shorts and yellow socks. (Get your home kit now!) Werder Bremen will wear a white kit with grey and green accents, and grey shorts and socks.

Live broadcast: Sky and Netradio
The match will be broadcast live on Sky. Martin Groß will be on commentary duties. BVB Netradio will be reporting through the usual Black & Yellow lens. The reporters are Norbert Dickel and Stephan Gabele. BVB Netradio will start 15 minutes before kick-off. It can be accessed by everyone on the homepage and in the BVB app on iPhone and Android devices. A summary of the match, as well as the press conference and comments on the game, will be available on BVB TV, among other places.

Weather: dry and rather cold
The weather forecast for Tuesday: a mix of clouds (mostly) and sunshine (occasionally) will determine a largely dry day. The temperature is expected to be around seven degrees at kick-off. There will be a ten percent chance of rain in the evening.

Liveticker: over to the app
BVB's digital channels operate at full throttle on matchday. And that's not just the case during the match but throughout the entire holiday - starting at 09:09 CET. In “holiday mode”, the BVB app (download) offers find news, pictures, posts, videos, statistics, and plenty more match info besides. The live ticker starts at kick-off and updates you on all the important moments. In addition to the live ticker, there will be full match highlights, statistics and first-hand info on our social media channels X, Facebook and Instagram.
