Post-Match Report

BVB with more points than in the 2011/12 title-winning season

BVB celebrated a commanding victory overall, allowing Union to dominate possession for long periods (the Berlin club had an uncharacteristic 53% possession), and impressing with their tremendous efficiency in front of goal. Here are the match facts.

Big win: BVB won the reverse fixture 3-0 – the Black & Yellows have not won by a bigger margin in this Bundesliga season (they also beat Bremen 3-0).

Good record: 42 points after 19 matchdays is Borussia’s best haul in seven years. It's also two more points than they had at the same point in the 2011/12 title-winning season.

Do-or-die duel: There has always been a winner in the 14 Bundesliga matches between Borussia Dortmund and Union Berlin (ten wins for BVB, four for Union). No other pairing in history has played each other so often without a single draw.
