Focus on Inter Milan: final training session on Tuesday

The Borussia Dortmund first-team are focused on their final match of the league phase of the Champions League against Inter Milan (Wednesday 28 January, 21:00 CET, live on DAZN). Niko Kovac called his team together for a final training session in Dortmund-Brackel on Tuesday afternoon, but the squad had two notable absentees: Marcel Sabitzer and Niklas Süle both trained individually.

Romulo got on the end of one such cross in the eighth minute, but Kobel was alert to the danger. Kobel then immediately set up a huge chance for Maximilian Beier, who ran a long way before placing his shot too close to Maarten Vandevoordt, allowing the goalkeeper to keep it out and prevent Borussia taking the lead. This was followed by a fairly dominant, controlled period for Borussia, who were very effective in their counter-pressing but couldn't quite close down the right side of their defence. The end of the game was wild and hectic, with eight minutes of added time. And sure enough, Ryerson and Couto drove the ball forward, Brandt played it through to Adeyemi, who crossed into the middle, where Fabio Silva slotted home from a tight angle to make it 2-2 (90+5).
