The Dortmund Fan Project (registered association) was also present, reporting on its programmes, including the North City League and the BVB Learning Center.<\/p>\n<p>The evening's hosts were Nobby Dickel and Danny Fritz, who jointly guided the audience through the program. Guests were treated to a diverse program: a large raffle with attractive prizes, an extended autograph session, and sporting challenges between fans and players \u2013 whether at the ping-pong table, Kicker, darts, or on the video game console. A traditional part of the evening was pouring Brinkhoff's beer together behind the bar. Necessity was the mother of invention, even 70 years ago: \u201cWe made balls out of fabric and kicked them around in the street or even in some old man's garden.\u201d When a training ground was finally found in Schwerte, the late training time again demanded ingenuity. \u201cI always borrowed my father's moped to get to training; others were driven there by car. The cars were then positioned so that the headlights served as floodlights,\u201d Breß describes the training sessions at the time.<\/p>\n<p>Noreen Günnewig, a 24-year-old midfielder, raves after the extraordinary visit: &quot;Renate shaped football and is a very inspiring woman.\u201d She also participated in over 150 unofficial women's international matches between 1956 and 1965. \u201cWe were in Holland, Belgium, France, and Italy. The game in Milan at the San Siro was certainly the absolute highlight,\u201d says Renate Breß, passing around two heavy albums. Just moments before, everyone listened in complete silence, but suddenly, enthusiastic whispers erupt. And the purchase of the appropriate playing kit back then is something unimaginable today. \u201cWe got our kit from the Wiethoff sports shop and had to pay it off in installments of two German Marks a month. It took us years,\u201d the pensioner recalls. While nowadays \u201cequal pay\u201d is being discussed, back then \u201cmoney wasn't an issue at all, according to Breß. We just wanted to play.
