Steenwijk called up to the Suriname national team for the first time

BVB player Jenske Steenwijk has been called up to the Suriname national team for the first time. The 21-year-old Borussia player will join up with the South American coastal state's national team to face Haiti in the CONCACAF qualifiers on 3 March.

The Dutch player's father was born in Suriname, which means Steenwijk has dual citizenship. On 24 February, the left-back will travel to her father's homeland for the first time. The qualifying match against Haiti is scheduled for 3 March, before Steenwijk returns home the next day.
