Black & Yellows' timetable for April
Saturday, 4 April (18:30 CEST, live on Sky): VfB Stuttgart – BVB
On Holy Saturday, BVB travel to face VfB Stuttgart. The match between the third-placed side and the second-placed side kicks off at 18:30 CEST. Borussia last beat the Swabians in October 2022. In that 5-0 home win, Jude Bellingham (2), Niklas Süle, Gio Reyna and Youssoufa Moukoko scored the goals. In the reverse fixture this season, BVB were leading 2-0 thanks to goals from Emre Can and Maxi Beier before Deniz Undav scored twice to level the score at 2-2. Undav also had an answer to BVB (90+1) when they retook the lead through Karim Adeyemi shortly before the final whistle (89), meaning the high-scoring match ended 3-3.
Saturday, 4 April (19:00 CEST, live on Dyn): HSG Blomberg-Lippe – BVB Women
Borussia Dortmund’s women’s handball team have two more matches to play in the main round of the Alsco Handball Bundesliga Women. They will play their penultimate match at the Wellinghofen Hall against VfL Oldenburg (buy tickets) on 1 April at 19:30 CEST, before travelling to HSG Blomberg-Lippe for the top-of-the-table clash on the final matchday of the regular season (4 April, 19:00 CEST). The Borussia women can reclaim top spot in the table from Blomberg this evening and are aiming to start the play-offs from a strong position. Their most recent encounter with Blomberg was not long ago, when the Black & Yellows won 35-32 in the semi-finals on their way to the cup victory in mid-March. The reverse fixture of the Bundesliga match ended 31-26 in Borussia's favour at the start of the year.
Saturday, 11 April (15:30 CEST, live on Sky): BVB v Bayer Leverkusen
This is the third meeting with Bayer Leverkusen this season. At the end of November 2025, BVB won the reverse fixture away 2-1. Just three days later, the Werkself visited SIGNAL IDUNA PARK in the DFB Pokal round of 16 and won 1-0. Now the next clash at SIGNAL IDUNA PARK is coming up and BVB are determined to come out on top.
Saturday, 18 April (15:30 CEST, live on Sky): TSG 1899 Hoffenheim – BVB
From matchday 18 onwards, Hoffenheim occupied third place in the table, making them BVB’s closest challengers. It was only on the last matchday that they slipped down to fifth place following a 5-0 defeat in Leipzig. However, TSG have not yet given up the fight for Champions League places. The Black & Yellows won the reverse fixture 2-0 thanks to goals from Julian Brandt and Nico Schlotterbeck.
Sunday, 19 April (15:00 CEST, live on Pluto TV): BVB women – Arminia Bielefeld
In the top-of-the-table clash in the Regionalliga West, the teams currently in second and third face off. The BVB women have collected 44 points and are three points behind leaders 1. FC Köln U21, having played one game fewer and boasting a significantly better goal difference. The Arminia Bielefeld women are in third place with 40 points. The reverse fixture in October ended 1-1. Sunday, 26 April (17:30 CEST, live on DAZN): BVB – SC Freiburg
SC Freiburg are the visitors to SIGNAL IDUNA PARK for the penultimate home game of the season. BVB have had a successful run in their most recent home matches against Freiburg, with their last defeat coming in 2001, when BVB lost 0-2. Since then, they have recorded 16 wins and one draw in front of their home crowd. Borussia's last match at home against Freiburg was a 4-0 victory in November 2024 (goals: Beier, Nmecha, Brandt, Gittens).
