Post-Match Report

Facts: BVB lead in possession and tackles, TSG lead in shots on goal

TSG Hoffenheim were the more dangerous side before the break, took a deserved lead and ended up with 13 shots on goal to BVB's seven. After the break, Borussia Dortmund became more dominant, equalised with their first shot on target and pressed for the win. The second handball penalty awarded to TSG turned the match in the other direction. BVB had more of the ball (55%) and were also stronger in the challenges (56% success rate). Here are the facts on the 2-1 defeat away to Hoffenheim.

Out of the ordinary: Borussia Dortmund have lost two Bundesliga matches in a row for the first time in 13 months.

Top scorer: Serhou Guirassy scored the equaliser to make it 1-1 with a shot travelling at 105.4 km/h from a distance of 19.4 metres and, with 14 goals to his name, is now Borussia’s top scorer this season.

Brief appearance: Niklas Süle was named in the starting line-up for the first time in over two months (since 13 February, a 4-0 win against Mainz) but unfortunately had to leave the pitch injured shortly before half-time. Get well soon!
