One last time before the summer break: 750 fans attend open training session

Around 750 fans turned up in Dortmund-Brackel on Tuesday afternoon to catch a final glimpse of the BVB first-team players before the summer break. Following the 3-2 home win against Eintracht Frankfurt, manager Niko Kovac called his squad to the training pitch at the Jugendstadion to prepare for the final game of the season against Werder Bremen.

Julian Ryerson and Marcel Sabitzer were absent as part of their individual training management programmes. Emre Can and Ramy Bensebaini were also missing due to injury. Kovac was also without his trio of youngsters: Filippo Mane, Mathis Albert and Almugera Kabar are currently in London and will play in the Premier League International Cup final on Tuesday evening, where they will face Real Madrid’s youth team (live on YouTube).

After the session, the Borussia players took plenty of time for their fans: autographs, selfies and numerous chats ensured a successful conclusion to this season’s public training sessions.
