BVB collaborates with RIS Swiss Section as Official Youth Development Partner in Bangkok

Borussia Dortmund and RIS Swiss Section – Deutschsprachige Schule Bangkok, the only school abroad that combines both German and Swiss educational systems under one roof, start a long-term partnership.

The transformation of Bulldogs Football Academy of RIS Swiss Section into BVB International Academy Thailand elevates the professionalism of football training, delivering substantial advantages for both players and coaches.

A unique aspect of this partnership is that a BVB coach will be permanently stationed at RIS Swiss Section in Bangkok to support and develop the football academy alongside local coaches, ensuring the highest standards of training and mentorship. Further initiatives encompass training programs for participating players, financial support of local, external players as well as dispatching selected players and coaches to the BVB Evonik Football Academy in Dortmund.

Christian Vogel, Principal of RIS Swiss Section, says: “RIS Swiss Section – Deutschsprachige Schule Bangkok launched its Bulldogs Football Academy in April 2024 with 40 players. Now, with over 80 players, we are excited to start BVB International Academy Thailand. Thanks to this partnership players and coaches will gain access to BVB's extensive network and expertise, elevating the quality of training and development. Additional benefits include access to BVB's world-class training methodologies and increased visibility for our academy as well as our school. We are especially pleased to partner with BVB, as our values and cultures are closely aligned, ensuring a strong and harmonious collaboration.”

Suresh Letchmanan, Managing Director BVB Asia Pacific, adds: “Through this partnership we hope to empower local coaches and players, and inspire a new generation of football enthusiasts. This collaboration exemplifies Borussia Dortmund's commitment to global football development and showcases the power of sport to make a positive impact on communities.”

Christian Diercks, Head of BVB Football Academy, says: “At the BVB Football Academy, our goal is to nurture and develop young talent, providing them with the best possible training and guidance. Partnering with the RIS Swiss Section – Deutschsprachige Schule Bangkok allows us to extend our reach and share our expertise with aspiring footballers in Thailand. We are excited to begin this journey together.”
