For the first time since 2014 and for the third time in history, Borussia Dortmund have started their Champions League campaign with three victories. Mathematically, only two points are needed to make it to the next round.

Dream start: Only in 2014/15 (2-0 against Arsenal, 3-0 in Anderlecht and 4-0 in Istanbul) and in 1996/97 (2-1 against Lodz, 3-0 in Bucharest and 1-0 at Atlético Madrid) has BVB started with three victories. If you count the goals, 2018/19 is the second-best start ever.

Clean Sheet: As in 2014/15, no were goals were conceded by BVB in the first three games of the Champions League season.

Home series: Also, the sixth home game of the season, across all competitions, was won. BVB has scored 25 goals (4.2 goals per game on average).

Whitewash: The Black and Yellows have only won by a margin of four twice in the UEFA Champions League. On 22 November 2016 with an 8-4 victory against Legia Warsaw and on 8 March 2017 with a 4-0 victory against S.L. Benfica.

Joker: Once again we have seen three goals from substitutes (Guerreiro 2, Sancho). As a result, 16 of the competition's 37 goals this season (43%) have been scored by players who started on the bench.

Upgraded: The home record against the Spaniards now stands at eight wins, four draws and three defeats. Of the past seven home games against clubs from "La Liga", only one has been lost (five wins, one draw). (Br)
