U19s win 6-0 thanks to strong second half
BVB initially struggled after taking an early 1-0 lead through Thierry Fidjeu-Tazemeta in the second minute. But Mike Tullberg's charges delivered a dominant performance in the second period and didn't give the visitors the slightest chance. Nick Cherny (2), Mathis Albert (2) and Alex Niziolek netted to take the goal tally to half a dozen.
After the original match was cancelled last Sunday, both clubs agreed to switch the home advantage and hold the all-Westphalian clash at the Brackel Youth Performance Centre. Another date was not possible because the group phase of the Nachwuchsliga will draw to a close on Sunday and the four groups of six that will make up the future A Liga will be allocated next week.
Fourth-placed Münster are currently striving for promotion to that league and put up great resistance in the first period. They quickly shook off Dortmund's opening goal, which was set up by Mathis Albert and finished off by Thierry Fidjeu-Tazemeta, and did not allow BVB to settle into their usual game for a long time. "After making a good start, we no longer did what we had set out to do," analysed Mike Tullberg.
Borussia created only one opportunity up until the break: Samuele Inacio was thwarted by Münster's alert goalkeeper Leander Hoppenheit (38). At the other end, Robin Lisewski's deputy Aaron Held had to showcase his quality by making a save to keep out Len Blackmann in the 25th minute.

"The team implemented the corrections that we made in the half-time interval very well," said Tullberg, praising the reaction from his team, who at times in the second half operated in total harmony, showed great link-up play and scored stunning goals. "That was then a really strong performance," reflected Tullberg.
After Nick Cherny scored from the penalty spot to make it 2-0 in the 60th minute, Münster started to run out of steam. Following a quick two-goal salvo from Cherny and Albert (66, 67), it became a damage limitations exercise for the visitors. In the closing stages, Alex Nizoliek netted and Mathis Albert scored from the spot (90).
The U19s will contest their final group game on Saturday. The opponents at the Jugendstadion at the Youth Performance Centre will be second-placed Fortuna Düsseldorf (kick-off 13:00 CET).
