BVB first team complete their first training session in Bad Ragaz

Shortly after arriving in Bad Ragaz, BVB coach Nuri Sahin presided over the first session of the training camp in the afternoon. Several fans had already welcomed the players at the team hotel and they were also greeted with cheers at the "Ri-Au" training complex.

More than 1000 fans came to the public training session on Switzerland National Day. It was the first team training session for new signings Waldemar Anton and Pascal Groß at BVB. Due to his injury, the third newcomer, Serhou Guirassy, completed a solo session in the strength and conditioning tent.

"We are still working on fitness here, but the foundations for how we play and our tactics are also being laid here," said sporting director Lars Ricken. "As a team, you really come together. Fortunately, we have the new signings here. You get to know the coach better. This is where Nuri can work on his ideas. A training camp like this plays a major role in the pre-season preparations."

After warming up in front of the 2500m high Falknis, assistant coach Lukasz Piszczek took charge of some high-intensity passing drills. Sahin repeatedly demanded that his players up the pace. Then they got together for a quick rondo. The players did not let the onset of a rain shower distract them as they practised various forms of games on small and large goals. (cr)
