Interview
"The Yellow Wall gives me energy" – the BVB players ahead of the Bundesliga opener
Pascal Gross: "Everything feels very good in training. We played well in the cup. We put in a good showing in the friendly against Aston Villa. We hope we can continue in the same vein. For me, it's my first home game in the Bundesliga in a sold-out stadium. I can't wait for it to start. I'll soak it all up and when I come out to warm up, I'll be looking at the yellow wall on the left. That energises me for the game. I'm really looking forward to it."
Maximilian Beier: "I've repeatedly said that I'm really looking forward to playing in the stadium and for the 81,000 fans that are there to support me. Any of the new players who don't take a look over to the left are missing out. I'm absolutely going to enjoy it. We want to leave everything on the pitch, play high-quality football and win the game."
Karim Adeyemi: "Of course everyone's up for it. The new arrivals should get themselves ready for something amazing. I always get goosebumps when I'm standing out there. I always stand near the yellow wall and that's why I'm looking forward to it so much. It's the start of something big. Frankfurt are strong opponents and you can expect us to play some good football. We'll give everything we have and will be out to pick up the three points." .
Felix Nmecha: "You can expect us to all fight for each other and use the energy in the stadium to help us implement all the things we've worked on in training. That will allow us to put in a good showing and pick up the three points. We know that Frankfurt are a good side. We've taken a look at them tactically and we know what we have to do. I want to play as often as possible this season, to help the team and show what I can do."
Sebastien Haller: "It's nice to play against my old club. Of course Frankfurt and all my old clubs mean something special to me, as those are the places where I spent a good part of my life. I have great memories of Frankfurt. I know a few people there and stay in touch with them."
