Post-Match Report
The facts on the away win in Heidenheim
A long time coming: BVB claimed their first Bundesliga victory of the 2025 calendar year at the fifth attempt (previously one draw and three defeats).
Start of a run? Borussia Dortmund have registered two successive competitive wins for the first time since the end of November 2024. The Black & Yellows were unbeaten in all three competitive games under interim coach Mike Tullberg.
Confident on the ball: Heidenheim's pass completion rate was very poor with only 74% arriving at their destination, while BVB's was an impressive 88%.
Goal-getter: Serhou Guirassy scored his ninth goal of the season. He also opened the scoring at 1-0 at home to Bremen on the last matchday. 40 of his 52 Bundesliga goals have opened the scoring, equalised or reduced the deficit to one goal. Guirassy scored for the fourth competitive game in a row (five goals in total in this period) and made it 1-0 in each of those matches.
Super sub: Maximilian Beier scored his fourth goal of the season and netted from the bench for BVB for the first time.
Ball magnet: Waldemar Anton had the most touches of the ball of any player by some distance (136, no other player reached triple digits). He assisted the goal for the all-important opener (his first in a BVB shirt) and was the toughest tackler of the match, winning 83% of his challenges.
Provider: Ramy Bensebaini has already taken his assist tally to five this season. That's a new personal season record for him.
Landmark: Substitute Giovanni Reyna made his 100th Bundesliga appearance.
