Post-Match Report
Reactions: "The entire team delivered today"
Niko Kovac (on Sky): "It feels good, I'm happy all round. The boys played up a storm. Things didn't go so well in the first 15 minutes. Once we upped the tempo and won a lot of the ball with our counter-pressing, we scored some wonderful goals. The 1-0 gave us relief. We conceded the own goal against Stuttgart and now we were lucky that one went our way. The aggression against the ball, winning the ball high up the pitch - if we do that, then we're a quality team. I also expect pressure from those who aren't starting at the moment. The lads will get two days off and then we'll get going again on Tuesday."
Sebastian Kehl (in the mixed zone): "I'm particularly pleased for the spectators who have suffered over the past few weeks. The fact that they're going home with a 6-0 win today is a relief for everyone. The team were also relieved. We know that they can play football. They showed that impressively today. Winning again is also important. Our concentration was high throughout the game and we won a lot of second balls. We were eager in our transition play. I don't want us to let up an inch. That was a first, small step forwards. But we also know that we have to get it right because we're still far too far away from where we want to be."
Emre Can (on Sky): "When we light a fire on the pitch like we did today, the atmosphere is always good. A perfect Saturday for all of us. We had a very good game. The first 15 minutes weren't easy. Sometimes you need a goal like that and then things come together. After that, we got into the game very well, hit a lot of crosses and scored some nice goals. The whole team delivered today."
Marcel Sabitzer (on BVB TV): "Relief, satisfaction. It was a good evening of football for everyone - for us and for the fans. It was what we needed. We've laid the foundations for where the journey can take us. We have to keep at it, because we have a lot to make up for. We were aggressive, we hardly let them play, we were there in the tackles and moved them around well. In the second half, we were then also very cool in front of goal. It's good for our confidence to get a clear win and show what we're capable of."
Serhou Guirassy (on Sky): "A perfect evening, a great game. It was the first time I've scored four goals in a game. We knew we had to win this kind of game to bounce back. It was an important win for the team. We have to keep going like this."
Gregor Kobel (in the mixed zone): "It was a nice game. When we run the ball quickly, the spaces open up. We hit a lot of crosses and occupied the spaces in and around the box. And we delivered balls that we didn't against Lisbon. When one or two goals are scored here, it gets louder and louder and then you get into a flow and it's more and more enjoyable. We can take a lot of positives with us - but we have to prove ourselves in the coming weeks."
Karim Adeyemi (on BVB TV): "It was a very good game. We have to continue like this. I'm quite happy with my performance, just the scorer points are missing. It was a solid game. What was more important was that we performed. The last few weeks have been very difficult for every Borussia supporter, and of course for us too. To disappoint us and the fans like that is tough. Today was a statement."
Carney Chukwuemeka (on BVB-TV): "I enjoyed playing in front of 80,000 fans. I tried to play my game and help the team. It was a great performance from the whole team. We were very efficient, especially in the second half. We played very directly and very precisely in the final third. Hopefully we can build on this performance."
