Round of 16: Group winners BVB to face Monterrey in Atlanta

Borussia Dortmund have accomplished their first mission at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the USA and secured their place among the best 16 teams at the tournament by qualifying for the knockout phase. Opponents in the round of 16 are CF Monterrey (Mexico).

As group winners, BVB will travel to the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Tuesday (21:00 local time / 2/7 3:00 CEST) for a round of 16 tie against the runners-up in Group E. CF Monterrey secured that rank with a 4:0 win against Urawa Reds. River Plate, who lost 2-0 to Inter Milan, were eliminated.
