Build-up to season opener: Mats Hummels returns to SIGNAL IDUNA PARK

“I'm looking forward to seeing what has changed in a year,” said Mats Hummels from the catacombs of the stadium. A short time later he made his way out onto the pitch, where he will play for the last time in Black & Yellow on Sunday. “I'm incredibly excited to play in this shirt and in this stadium once more!” On the eve of the season opener, the Borussia player of many years paid a visit to SIGNAL IDUNA PARK and sat down once again in his usual spot in the dressing room.

The captain had already visited little Mustafa in the hospital a few weeks ago. The welcome on ward K41, the paediatric oncology ward, was correspondingly warm when he arrived with the whole team this time. \u201cMustafa is extremely cool and extremely strong. He is a little fighter. We had a great time together last time, and again today. The children get a real boost when we come here.
