Pre-Match Report
Countdown Wolfsburg: Schlotterbeck to start
Starting line-up: Nico Schlotterbeck is back in the squad – and in the starting line-up
Nico Schlotterbeck is in the squad for the Bundesliga match against Wolfsburg. This is the first time the centre-back has been included in the Black & Yellows' squad since suffering a torn meniscus in April. On Friday, the defensive player had already completed a full team training session. BVB coach Niko Kovac is putting Schlotterbeck straight into the starting line-up, with Yan Couto moving to the bench. Otherwise, Borussia will line up as they did against Juventus.
Referee: Siebert to take charge
Daniel Siebert, a 41-year-old teacher from Berlin, will referee the match. Jan Seidel and Rafael Foltyn will assist on the touchlines. Harm Osmers will be the fourth official. Benjamin Cortus will be the VAR. Siebert has been a FIFA referee since 2014 and cites sport and travel as his main interests. He refereed BVB for the first time on 12 September 2015, when Borussia won 4-2 in Hanover. He has refereed a total of 30 league matches involving BVB (20 wins, five draws, five defeats). He last refereed BVB in April in their 3-2 win against Gladbach. He has already refereed four matches between BVB and VfL, all of them in Wolfsburg. Borussia won the three Bundesliga away games, but lost 1-0 after extra time in the DFB Cup under Siebert's supervision.
Travel: Ticket included in your ticket
This service from BVB and DSW21 continues to be unique in the Bundesliga. The admission ticket to SIGNAL IDUNA PARK entitles you to an outbound and homeward journey in the entire state of NRW. This also applies to holders of plastic season ticket cards. Holders of a “print@home ticket” or a “mobile ticket” (for example, Apple Wallet) need to have a public transport ticket, which can be ordered online free of charge on this site, in addition to their match ticket.
Tickets: Secondary Market open
This home game is also sold out, with the lower tiers set to be entirely Black & Yellow. Wolfsburg will only be supported by 750 travelling fans. The Secondary Market will be open until 17:00 CEST on game day. It offers ticket holders a legal way to sell on their season or match tickets via the BVB Ticket Shop if they are unable to attend the match at SIGNAL IDUNA PARK in person. The ticket holder does not need to hand over their match ticket or their season ticket because the tickets can be blocked electronically and subsequently released again. The Secondary Ticket Market is available for all sold-out home games.
Live broadcast: DAZN & Net Radio
The match can be watched live on DAZN. The pre-match coverage will start at 18:30 CEST with Lukas Schönmüller as presenter and Tobias Schweinsteiger as pundit. The game will be commentated by Max Siebald. As per usual, the BVB Net Radio will give you the Black & Yellow take. Norbert Dickel and Boris Rupert will be the reporters. It is available to everyone on the homepage and in the BVB app on iPhone and Android devices. Match highlights plus the press conference and match reactions will be available via BVB TV, among others.
