Silas Ostrzinski
Silas Ostrzinski has been with BVB since 2018. With the U17s, he lost only one game in the 2019/20 season as the first-choice keeper and on average conceded just one goal per game. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the season was cancelled and the German champions were not determined. As a result, he played for the U19s and advanced to the U23s in the 2022/23 season, making his 3. Liga debut on 1 October 2022 in a 1-1 draw against TSV 1860 Munich. The 1.98 metre tall goalkeeper has been in the BVB squad several times in the UEFA Champions League, for the first time shortly after his 18th birthday for the match in Lisbon on 24 November 2021. “When I learned that I was going to be there, a little dream came true.”
Born on 19 November 2003 in Unna, Silas Ostrzinski made his first steps as a footballer at SSV Mühlhausen-Uelzen. At the age of 12, he moved to Spielvereinigung Hagen 1911. “After my move from Hagen to BVB, that really was a big change. In the U17s, I managed to assert myself at this high level. However, I have not only developed on the pitch, but also in my character and as a human being,” said Ostrzinski in an interview with the Ruhr Nachrichten.
In his youth, Silas Ostrzinski was nominated for the U20s national team for the first time.
