BVB legends to face Liverpool legends at Anfield
In spring 2026, the legends of BVB and Liverpool will face each other in a special afternoon of football as part of the “LFC Foundation charity match”. Kick-off is at 15:00. local time on 28 March. The two clubs have a long history together: Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool faced each other in the final of the European Cup Winners’ Cup in 1966, which BVB won 2-1 after extra time, becoming the first German club to win a European title. Several players have played for both BVB and Liverpool during their careers, including BVB legend Karl-Heinz Riedle and Emre Can, the current captain of Borussia Dortmund. In addition, Jürgen Klopp coached and shaped both the Black and Yellows & the Reds for many years.

The game consists of two 45-minute halves. Tickets are available at prices ranging from £9.50 to £29.50. The pre-sale for BVB fans starts on 19 November at 12:00 in the online ticket shop. All proceeds from the match will go to the BVB foundation “leuchte auf”, the LFC Foundation and the organisation Forever Reds, giving fans the opportunity to experience this match live while supporting a good cause.
The legends squads for both teams will be announced in the coming weeks. Main sponsor Vodafone as well as PUMA and ROWE are partners of the legends on this journey.
