Julien Duranville to undergo surgery

Borussia Dortmund's attacking talent Julien Duranville will undergo surgery on the shoulder injury he sustained in the 3-2 loss to Real Madrid in the quarter-final of the FIFA Club World Cup in New Jersey.

This was the outcome of the final examination that was conducted today. It is not currently possible to precisely forecast the length of his absence.

“It's very frustrating that Julien injured his shoulder in such an unfortunate incident. We had all worked successfully together on his physical stability throughout the course of last season, so this setback is all the more tough to take now. Nonetheless, we remain positive and optimistic because Julien is an outstanding talent. We will organise his recovery process and subsequent reintegration in the best-possible way,” said Borussia Dortmund's sporting director Sebastian Kehl.
