Schlotterbeck in the VDV “XI of the Season”

Nico Schlotterbeck has been voted into the 2024/25 "XI of the Season" by his professional colleagues in the VDV players' union. The centre-back has now received his trophy.

The 11 best players of the season are selected for the ‘VDV 11’ based on their position. Schlotterbeck impressed his colleagues in defence. Finn Dahmen (Mainz), Jonathan Tah (then Leverkusen), Dayot Upamecano, Joshua Kimmich, Jamal Musiala (all Bayern), Granit Xhaka (then Leverkusen), Nadiem Amiri (Mainz), Florian Wirtz (then Leverkusen), Harry Kane and Michael Olise (both Bayern) were also selected.

All players in the Bundesliga, Bundesliga 2, , 3. Liga and the Regionalliga , as well as all other VDV members, were eligible to vote.

The captain had already visited little Mustafa in the hospital a few weeks ago. The welcome on ward K41, the paediatric oncology ward, was correspondingly warm when he arrived with the whole team this time. \u201cMustafa is extremely cool and extremely strong. He is a little fighter. We had a great time together last time, and again today. The children get a real boost when we come here.
