The Black & Yellow schedule for May
Friday, 1 May (11:00 CEST, live on Sky): TSG Hoffenheim U17 – BVB U17
The Dortmund youngsters face TSG Hoffenheim in the quarter-finals of the U17 Youth League. The Kraichgau side qualified for the round of 16 as fourth in the main round and defeated VfL Bochum 5-2 last Saturday. BVB progressed to the knockout stages as runners-up in their group and won their round of 16 tie against Borussia Mönchengladbach by a similarly convincing 4-2 margin.
Saturday, 2 May (18:00 CEST, live on Dyn, sporteurope.tv): HSG Bensheim/Auerbach – BVB Women’s Handball
In the semi-final of the German Championship, Borussia Dortmund’s women’s handball team will face HSG Bensheim/Auerbach. The play-offs will be played in a ‘best of three’ format. The Borussia women won the first match last weekend, and now they are looking to secure their place in the final with a second victory. Should Bensheim win, a deciding match would take place a week later at the Wellinghofen Hall. The other semi-final will be contested by HSG Blomberg-Lippe and Thüringer HC.
Sunday, 3 May (17:30 CEST, live on DAZN): Borussia Mönchengladbach – BVB
Following their home win against SC Freiburg, the BVB professionals face another Sunday fixture. The Black & Yellows are unbeaten in six matches against Borussia from the Lower Rhine, most recently securing two home wins (2-0 in the first half of the season and 3-2 last season). Their last victory to date came in Mönchengladbach in April 2024: Marcel Sabitzer scored twice in the 2-1 win.
Friday, 8 May (20:30 CEST, live on Sky): BVB – Eintracht Frankfurt
The final home game of the season is upon us: Borussia Dortmund kick off the Bundesliga Matchday 33 against Eintracht Frankfurt on Friday evening at SIGNAL IDUNA PARK. The two sides have already met twice this season. First, Borussia won 4-2 on penalties in the DFB-Pokal, whilst the reverse fixture in the league ended in a 3-3 draw. It’s set to be an emotional affair even before kick-off: Julian Brandt, Niklas Süle and Salih Özcan, who are leaving BVB at the end of the season, will be given a send-off and will appear before the fans for the last time in the black and yellow jersey.
Saturday, 16 May (15:30 CEST, live on Sky): Werder Bremen – BVB
To round off the Bundesliga season, BVB travel to Bremen. In the Bundesliga, the Black & Yellows have been unbeaten on the banks of the Weser since 2014: in nine matches, BVB have won six times and drawn three times. The reverse fixture in January saw Borussia win 3-0 thanks to goals from Nico Schlotterbeck, Marcel Sabitzer and Serhou Guirassy.
