BVB Signs Liam Claude Kanté for the U19 Team

Center back Liam Claude Kanté is joining BVB and will play for the U19 team. The 16-year-old defender comes from the U17 team at NK Lokomotiva Zagreb and already has international experience.

Kanté is a Croatian youth international—he has played two international matches for Croatia’s U16 team so far. As a left-footed player, he possesses technical maturity and strong playing skills.

Thomas Broich, sporting director of the youth academy, is looking forward to the new addition: “Liam is a defender with a very good feel for the game—he’s strong in one-on-one situations and has the composure needed on the ball. We’re convinced that he’ll take his next big step with us.”

Every single player can improve\u2014technically, tactically, and physically. So we\u2019re not done yet, especially since we now have so many young players on the team. The progress we\u2019ve made has been very, very good.
