Karim Adeyemi’s emotional farewell to BVB

After four years, Karim Adeyemi’s time at Borussia Dortmund has come to an end. Before departing for Catalonia, where the 24-year-old has signed a long-term contract with FC Barcelona running through 2031, the winger said goodbye to his Dortmund teammates.

It was an emotional moment when Karim Adeyemi stepped onto the BVB training grounds in Dortmund-Brackel for the last time. The 24-year-old hugged his former teammates, joked with the coaches, and signed the last few Black and Yellow jerseys with his number 27 on the back.  Then, in his speech to the more than 40 club officials, teammates, coaches, and staff members in attendance, Adeyemi chose emotional words: “It’s a difficult goodbye for me because I’ve grown very fond of this club and the people here.”

For the forward, one thing is important: “I hope we part on good terms and see each other again someday. I wish you all good health and only the best!”

Sports Director Lars Ricken was also on hand for Karim Adeyemi’s farewell with the team. Addressing him, he said: “You’ve created some great memories at Borussia Dortmund that will truly last a long time.”
